Micon Pacsayf (Pacdip)
Micon Pacsayf (Pacdip) is an aqueous fire retardant for the protection of timber used in the mining and building industries. The chemicals in this product react chemically with wood, preventing leaching, to form esters, resulting in a new timber / chemical compound.
Micon Pascayf (Pacdip) meets the requirements of Anglo American’s specification with respect to corrosion, skin sensitivity, effects on gold extraction, effects on water pollution, timber ignition, leaching, environment, timber strength and a minimum 60% reduction in heat contribution.
Micom Pacsayf (Pacdip) is an aqueous fire retardant developed for the protection of timber in the mining and building industries. The formulation is unique and has inherent penetration capabilities enabling significant process saving.
Due to the penetrating capability of the Micon Pacsayf (Pacdip) chemicals into the timber, treatment can be effectively undertaken through a simple dipping process. The timber must be completely submerged for a minimum period of half an hour to ensure a pick up of between 65 to 95 litres per tonne of timber depending of the timber density.
Chemicals used in the formulation are similar to those used for agricultural fertilisers and have no harmful environmental effects.
Alternatively, timber treatment can be effected through conventional pressure impregnation methods. This is more costly but quicker for high volumes.
